Aside from
the sun and the sea, the hospitable people and the ancient monuments, our
homeland, Greece,
has been blessed with yet another treasure : an even more beautiful and far
more precious one.
We Greeks
share this treasure, with millions of people all over the world and it is our
gift to our Chinese brethren as well - especially those who live in our country
or who have chosen it as the place to have their wedding.
This
treasure is the ancient and authentic form of Christianity. It is the faith
that Jesus Christ Himself had taught; it is the Church that He had founded -
the Church that has not ceased to exist and continues to bring man into
communion with God, throughout the ages.
We refer to
it as the Orthodox Church.
It has been
the faith of the Greeks for almost 2000 years, but it is also the faith of many
other peoples; it even has faithful and Saints, in the heart of China.
This faith
is what we cherish most of all, and it is our heartfelt desire to share it with
all the world.
After all,
Jesus Christ belongs to all the world.
